EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER- North Charleston Police

WH Platts designed and installed an E.O.C. command center video system for the City of North Charleston, South Carolina. The city wanted a system that was easy to use, could display cable TV and computer graphics at the same time on multiple displays and could also be used for training and presentation use when needed.

WH Platts provided a solution that included using a SMART Board interactive whiteboard as the main Presentation screen, two 50” LCD displays mounted on either side of the SMART Board that display cable TV channels and 2 more wall mounted 50” LCD displays that hang from the ceiling closer to the rear of the room so that people sitting in the back of the room can see the image presented on the SMART Board clearly. The solution also includes an audio system and a presentation switcher to make switching between sources easy.

The SMART Board interactive white board is used for training and presenting. It enables the presenter to write or highlight directly on any open computer application, such as Google Earth and save, print or email the documents as needed for future reference and also can be used to control a presentation with the touch of a finger.

North Charleston Police E.O.C. video system is intuitive and user friendly and continues to be a useful asset for daily use.
