BenefitFocus is the number one healthcare benefits software provider in the world. They were looking for a way to hold more efficient and collaborative meetings using the latest technology. They wanted a solution that would enable them to write and save meeting notes and share this information easily with anyone, anywhere. They also wanted to hold cost effective data conferences in which many different off-site participants could collaborate as if they were all in one meeting room. They needed training and great support for these systems.

Our solution consisted of 5 SMART Technologies’ SMART Boards for 4 boardrooms in their local location and one SMART Board in a distant office with SMART Technologies’ SMART BRIDGIT data conferencing server software.

When connected to a computer, the SMART Board enables a meeting person to write on top of any Microsoft application, or use the software in “whiteboard” mode as a digital flip chart. At the end of the meeting, all notes and annotations can be saved in a universally acceptable format such as PDF, then emailed, printed or distributed on to your network.   

The SMART BRIDGIT data conferencing software serves well for distance collaboration, as different geographical locations can share the pen and write together at the same time in a truly collaborative way, making distance collaboration simple to use. The software also includes basic video display from a webcam and voice over IP audio capabilities. Over 100 concurrent participants with multiple sets of concurrent meetings can be connected at one time to multiple conferences, and email invites are easy to send out to invite others to view and participate in meetings.

Training and support were provided and this technology is transforming the way they hold meetings.
